This is an exciting opportunity within the Family Support Coordinator initiative, focused on early intervention and prevention to deliver better outcomes for Queensland children and their families, and providing families with a smooth transition into the early school years. You will provide regional advice, training, oversight, and governance to a new role being piloted in schools - Family Support Coordinator (FSC). You'll work alongside the school-based FSCs, school leaders, and regional and central colleagues, and contribute to piloting the Family Support Coordinator role in schools. We're looking for a skilled and strategic leader with expertise and a passion to be innovative, undertake project planning, implementation, and review, and build staff capability.

Your Opportunity

As the Principal Project Officer, you will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and innovative initiatives focused on a range of products, services and activities within the scope of the project to meet departmental goals.
  • Provide strategic policy and proactive planning advice on specific issues relating to the various projects and initiatives being undertaken by the unit.

Your Role:

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide advice to schools on the operation of FSCs with adherence to policy, procedure and legislation
  • Provide advice on managing potential issues in consultation with internal stakeholders
  • Initiating, developing and maintaining effective communication and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Analysing, reviewing and refining regional systems and processes to ensure successful FSC service delivery
  • Monitoring data collection to inform and support practice
  • Supporting the management of recruitment, workforce planning and training based on school requirements
  • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
