Join QBuild as a Senior Business Support Coordinator for an exciting career opportunity to provide high level administrative support to QBuild within the South East Queensland Region. This may include undertaking a range of business research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of QBuild services, in line with operational plans and objectives.

QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government.  It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

About the role

Join QBuild to play a pivotal role in strengthening Queensland's building and construction industry by providing exceptional administrative support and leadership.

Duties and skills involved:

  • Provide high level assistance, support, and advice to the Business Manager and Maintenance Team.
  • Manage the overall function, performance, and staff of the business support section to ensure successful business outcomes across all services provided.
  • Coordinate the implementation of business initiatives and resolve implementation issues within the section.
  • Coordinate and manage a range of administrative support activities to enable a service that is responsive to the needs of the business unit by providing administrative support and advice to senior management and staff on administrative operational issues.
  • Lead, support, and train staff to enhance their abilities and increase their knowledge of business improvement processes and related business management systems.
  • Participate in work practice review activities and provide expert advice in relation to the section's integrated business management systems.
  • Ensure that all work processes and business procedures are compliant with the department's business systems.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, be an enthusiastic contributor to QBuild culture and a positive leader to a great team while motivating staff to exceed expectations.
  • Provide efficient and high standards of customer service to QBuild customers, including coordinating responses to escalated customer queries.
  • Promote a safe and equitable work environment and ensure that all staff understand and comply with equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency within the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including both blue- and white-collar QBuild customers.
  • Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of QBuild's new and existing reporting tools and processes.
