What you'll do
As the Clinical Trials Nurse, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, practising independently and providing leadership in clinical research and decision-making. You will apply critical thinking across all domains of practice, ensuring that all activities align with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) standards.
You will be accountable for professional advice and provide essential support to clinical research projects led by a nominated PI, including preparing ethics submissions, governance applications, and materials for presentations such as conference reports, posters, slides, and handouts. Additionally, you will assist in preparing study materials such as informed consent documentation, case report forms, enrolment logs, and drug/device accountability logs. As required, you will coordinate participant recruitment, including screening assessments and providing information about the study.
About you
The essential requirements for this role are:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practicing certificate. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
- Knowledge of clinical trials and nursing experience across a range of clinical disciplines is preferred.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of a commitment to the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, ICH GCP guidelines and the Queensland Health Research Ethics and Governance Directive and Research Management Policy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to establish and manage productive professional relationships and networks with a variety of stakeholders.
- Flexible and agile professional mindset and approach, including the ability to manage multiple and complex responsibilities, show initiative, problem solve complex tasks and work autonomously.
