About us:

Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. Operational Services provides a service to the Gladstone Hospital and Gladstone Community Health Service.

The Department is managed by Manager, Operational Services who reports to the Director, Corporate and Support Services. Supervisors are responsible for day-to-day supervision of the operational staff and report to the Manager, Operational Services.

About the role:

To provide quality patient care by providing an efficient and effective porterage and patient assistance service within designated areas of the Gladstone Hospital facility.

About you:

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand written and verbal instructions and procedures and carry them out accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people to ensure good customer relationships and work well as part of an unsupervised team.
  • Knowledge of the process of cross infection and a sound knowledge of infection control methods.
  • Understanding of quality improvement processes and human resource management issues including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $39.05 - $41.66 (Including 25% casual loading)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
