Are you a library professional who loves working with people and delivering exceptional customer service?

In this role you will work front of house, providing guidance to clients in accessing information and resources, providing technical and research support and assisting with membership and borrowing.

You will work across service points in State Reference Library and John Oxley Library.

This role includes a dynamic roster with evening and weekend shifts. You will need to be available at short notice for shifts and a minimum four days a week.

To be considered for this role, you are required to hold a relevant/related degree and eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).

The Librarian, Information and Client Services role, within the Information Services branch is responsible for delivering information services to visitors and clients onsite and online. In this role you will be the friendly and knowledgeable face State Library clients turn to for guidance on accessing and using State Library's resources and services.

We are looking for passionate client-focused librarians dedicated to providing access to information through our reference services, onsite and online.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A relevant/related degree and eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
  • Strong technical skills to assist a diverse client base in the use of a range of equipment
  • The ability to effectively search, navigate and assist clients in the use of State Library resources
  • The ability to be responsive to change in a fast-paced work environment
