Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on Queensland's justice and social policy landscape? Queensland Treasury have a 6-month opportunity as a Senior Treasury Analyst in the Justice team. In the role you will play an essential role in providing innovative and fiscally responsible policy and financial advice across portfolios including the Queensland Police Service, Department of Justice, Queensland Corrective Services, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, and the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism.
Collaborate with teams across Queensland Treasury, and external stakeholders, to address complex policy and budget challenges while contributing to government decision-making. This is an opportunity to leverage your skills in policy analysis, financial management, and stakeholder engagement to influence real-world outcomes for the Queensland community.
In this role, you will:
• Provide expert advice to senior executives, including the Executive Director, on a diverse range of policy, budget, financial reporting, analysis, and economic performance matters.
• Engage and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and constructive dialogue.
• Analyse financial and performance data, prepare financial reports, and coordinate budget processes for relevant government agencies.
• Represent Treasury on committees and working groups, contribute to oral briefings for ministerial offices, and ensure informed decision-making.
• Develop high-quality submissions, briefing notes, presentations and correspondence addressing policy and budget issues.
What experience you will bring:
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management expertise to navigate complex discussions.
• Proven experience and understanding of policy analysis and development.
• Strong financial and performance data analytical skills.
• Flexibility to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently manage complex, time-critical tasks effectively.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
