Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker (Identified) to join the Child Development Service team within Women's and Children's Service Group at the Townsville University Hospital on a Temporary Full-time basis. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team contributing to the delivery of culturally sensitive health services for children with complex development needs. |

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $2686.90 to $3694.90 p.f. (HWF3)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
About your opportunity
This position supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families throughout the diagnostic process, with onward referral to early intervention providers and in engaging with relevant community organisations.
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
- Appointment, and future increment progression, between paypoints HWF3.1 to HWF3.5 requires:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
- Appointment, and future increment progression, between paypoints HWF3.2 to HWF3.7, or HWF3.8 (limited to employees who meet the requirements of HED 04/23) requires:
- Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
