The Manager, Business Services, manages the Corporate Services functions and the role will provide leadership support to the Assistant Director-General and Principal Registrar to ensure the successful and efficient operation of QCAT. This role will lead QCAT’s financial and human resources functions and oversee QCAT’s corporate governance and the operation of QCAT through property management, performance management reporting, data collation and contract management functions. This role requires a strong skillset in financial management, statistical and performance data analysis. You will be integral in promoting the work of QCAT by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including Tribunal members and QCAT staff to ensure the provision of high-quality QCAT services. You will also be required to provide leadership to a team of specialist business support staff.

In your role as Manager, Business Services, you will:
- Lead and manage the QCAT Corporate Services business and administrative functions including business planning, finance, budget, procurement, information management, communications, contract management, human resource management and general administration.
- Provide expert advice on issues relating to the business management of QCAT to the Senior Leadership group (SLG).
- With a focus on driving continuous improvement, lead and manage the development and implementation of policies, practices, and business and technology solutions to ensure cost effectiveness as well as compliance with relevant statutory and departmental requirements.
- Assist the Senior Leadership Group to resolve complex problems and negotiate outcomes to ensure solutions are consistent with the strategic direction of QCAT.
- Provide planning, policy and operational business advice and assistance to the Assistant Director-General and Principal Registrar, Directors and other department senior executives on issues relating to business management and administration.
- Manage and report on operational business planning and development activities to ensure that activities are structured, planned and delivered within requisite timeframes.
- Provide advice and assistance on the implementation and application of relevant legislation, awards, directives, standards, policies and procedures relevant to the corporate management of QCAT.
- Represent QCAT as required in discussions and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders and prepare submissions, briefs and responses relating to business and operational issues (in consultation with the SLG) impacting on QCAT.
- Supervise and manage a small team of business support personnel, including supporting the planning of career and capability development opportunities for business and administration staff.
