About the work unit / facility
The Medical Service Group (MSG) provides a comprehensive range of services, including inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory services to the Townsville Hospital. In addition outreach and telehealth services are provided to Ingham, Joyce Palmer, Charters Towers, Ayr, Mackay and Mount Isa. Service provision across the continuum of care is based on collaboration, communication and partnerships both with Government and Non-Government agencies.
The MSG has a collaborative management structure. The Service Group Director, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy and Cancer Centre Directors provide effective leadership to provide clinical and corporate governance with a patient focus on high quality service delivery. The Business Service Manager provides financial management. Quality, Risk and Hazard Management, Data Management, and HR Management is provided through administrative support functions. Devolution of operational management to individual Cost Centre Managers has resulted in effective and sustainable management.
MSG works closely with the James Cook University not only to provide learning opportunities for Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health but also has many recognised part time Medicine appointments including JCU Clinical Dean and a number of associate professor roles.

About your opportunity
Provide a high level of confidential administrative and secretarial support to the senior clinical staff of the Emergency Department within Medical Service Group; including recruitment process support, payroll and rostering support, mandatory training bookings, meeting secretariate, and other administrative support.
Requirements:
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
