About Our Social Work and Support Services

The Social Work Services work across all clinical directorates of Gold Coast Health with acute teams based throughout Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), Robina Hospital and Tugun Satellite Health Centre. Social Work Services aim to improve the patient experience of our hospital services by reducing length of stay, improving access to acute hospital services when they are needed, and working to help prevent further admissions.

About your new role

As a valued member of the Social Work Services team, you will contribute to patient care within the Allied Health Assistant service coordination by providing clinical support tasks at an advanced level.  This includes:

• Under the delegation instruction of a Social Worker contribute to patients with diverse and complex care needs
• Facilitating the receipt of referral and support liaison/communication with other health care providers
• Providing comprehensive information using agreed educational resources to patients or groups of patients
• Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, support and training/ development of other Allied health Assistants

Qualifications

• While not mandatory a relevant qualification in Allied Health Assistance is well regarded
• Blue Card/Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
• Driver Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time
• Base salary ranging from $76 076 - $81 346 per annum
