Runcorn State High School is seeking a dependable and proactive Day Cleaner to join our facilities team. In this vital role, you’ll help maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of high-traffic areas during the school day, directly supporting the wellbeing of our school community and the presentation of our learning spaces. Join us in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm), with additional ADO hours in line with departmental arrangements.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

  • Carry out general and responsive cleaning tasks across classrooms, bathrooms, offices, and shared spaces while school is in operation.
  • Perform hygiene maintenance and restocking duties (e.g. toilets, staff areas, sick bay) throughout the day.
  • Identify and report any hazards or maintenance needs, ensuring compliance with WHS standards.
  • Follow safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures as per departmental guidelines.

Must-Have Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial or institutional cleaning role.
  • Strong attention to detail, good time management, and the ability to work independently.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety and hygiene standards.
  • A current Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience cleaning in a school or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with departmental cleaning standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment and product usage.
