About us:

The School Based Youth Health Service aims to promote a positive health outcome for young people and their families by providing confidential individual health consultation offering health information, advice, support, brief intervention, and referral as required. Nurses work with school staff on curriculum, teaching and learning activities; support the development of an environment and a school culture which promotes health and wellbeing and liaise with the community and other services.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problems solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical prevention of illness and injury for young people with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. The role works autonomously within the Healthcare Team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of Youth Health specialist nursing care utilising the social model of health and applying the principles of primary health care within a secondary school setting.

About you:

  • Relevant qualifications and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Whilst not mandatory post-graduate qualifications in Child and Young People's health, or Public Health, or Mental Health or Sexual Health or Health Promotion would be well regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $38,181 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 – 58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
