In your role as Business Support Officer, you will be part of a dynamic, diverse and inclusive team that is committed to providing a high standard of business services to support Maritime Safety Queensland to achieve its objectives and outcomes for the Queensland community. You will coordinate and deliver a range of quality business support and administrative activities including other project activities as required.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing the first point of contact for external and internal customers and other stakeholders of Maritime Safety Queensland via face to face, email or telephone and providing appropriate responses including accurate and relevant information and/or redirecting to an appropriate officer/area.
  • Providing a range of day-to-day administrative support including data administration, recordkeeping, meeting room bookings and set up, onboarding, office logistics and assisting with enquiries.
  • Delivery of financial services including accounts payable and receivable, reviewing expense claims and payments, reconciliations, and procurement of minor goods and services primarily through corporate card purchases.
  • Travel bookings including car hire, accommodation, air travel and taxi vouchers, and facilitating relevant approvals and associated receipts and reconciliations.
  • Providing suggestions and support the delivery of customer service enhancements including improvement to processes and tools as well as other business improvement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support during response to emergency events.
