As the Director of PT Contracts, you will lead the strategic management of large-scale, performance-based contracts with public transport service providers across Queensland. Reporting to the Executive Director of PT Contracts, you will drive contract performance, foster strong operator partnerships, and contribute to shaping public transport policy and service delivery.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage the PT Contracts team, developing operational plans, allocating resources, and ensuring delivery of contract outcomes across public transport modalities, while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with service providers, implementing performance management frameworks and conducting regular reviews to drive continuous improvement and ensure high-quality service delivery for Queenslanders.
- Lead complex, multi-disciplinary contract negotiations, coordinating with legal, financial, and policy stakeholders to secure agreements that align with strategic objectives and deliver value for public transport users.
- Identify and respond to strategic risks and opportunities, shaping policy, legislation, and funding strategies to enhance transport service delivery and support the government's broader priorities in passenger transport.
Ensure compliance with government procurement and contract management policies, regularly reviewing legislative requirements and promoting best practices while cultivating a high-performing, values driven team environment

Requirements of the role
- Extensive experience in contract management and negotiation, particularly in complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving legal, financial, and operational considerations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to build high-performing teams and drive strategic outcomes across diverse service portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders, including service providers and government partners, to foster innovation and embrace change.
- In-depth knowledge of public sector governance, procurement frameworks, and legislative compliance, with the ability to interpret and apply policy in a dynamic transport environment.
- Strategic thinking and analytical capability, with the skill to identify risks and opportunities, influence policy development, and align contract performance with broader government priorities.
