About Acute Cognitive Unit and Specialised Psychogeriatric Consultation Service
The Acute Cognitive Unit (ACU) is dedicated to managing patients living with dementia and experiencing severe Behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), providing a highly structured environment with psychogeriatric support. The Specialised Psychogeriatric Consultation Service (SPCS) is a consultation liaison service that operates across the Gold Coast University and Robina hospitals to provide consultation services for patients in general medical-surgical units, and other non-geriatric focused areas.
About your new role
As a valued member of the ACU and SPCS teams, you will provide professional and clinical leadership, advanced level consultation and evidence based psychological services within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework. This includes:
- Providing advanced level, specialised psychology services of a highly complex and varied nature to patients
- Using and model authoritative counsel, high level problem solving and critical thinking to develop solutions for complex problems
- Providing high level advice to a range of health professionals, supervisors, managers and stakeholders regarding professional and interprofessional management of patients
- Leading and contributing to clinical governance and professional competence in psychology at a service and statewide level
Qualifications
- A tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
- Possession of a board recognised post-graduate qualification (e.g. Master's Degree, DPsych, PhD)
- Area of practice endorsement (e.g. Clinical or Health) with the Psychology Board of Australia
- AHPRA Registration
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (60.8 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $73.12 - $76.30 per hour
