Senior Medical Officer - Minor Injury and Illness Clinic

Minor Injury and Illness Clinic are looking for a Senior Medical Officer to join their team. The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC) is a 7 day a week service that provides episodic unscheduled care to patients with lower acuity but emergent clinical conditions and minor injuries that do not require the services of an Emergency Department. It is staffed by General practitioners, Nurse practitioners, registered nurses and administration support staff.

  • Provision of healthcare services to patients in accordance with the standards of the discipline and the ethics of the profession.
  • Provision of advanced urgent care Services for patients that are consistent with the Clinical Services Capability Framework of the relevant facilities with the Health Service
  • Document relevant clinical information clearly, concisely, accurately, and appropriately.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective team functioning, positive patient outcomes and the achievement of departmental objectives.

Redlands Satellite Hospital – Talwalpin Milbul:

The satellite hospital is also known as Talwalpin Milbul, a name chosen by the Redlands Coast community and local Traditional Owners and Elders. It means ‘Redland Bay alive/active' in Jandai language.

The satellite hospital treats minor illnesses and injuries that aren't life-threatening, and we also have diagnostic services for patients having treatment, including ultrasound, X-ray and pathology.
