Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with Metro North Health (MNH) clinical leads and end users to deliver the digital transformation strategy for Metro North Health. It will ultimately create an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North.  In meeting this strategy significant capital works are being undertaken over the next five years that includes hospital construction/refurbishment and the implementation of ieMR Advanced solution across Metro North. Delivering this will require a dedicated team, with the capacity to work across initiatives and domains, with the knowledge, determination, skills and experience to deliver.

About the Role 

Reporting to the Manager of the Statewide Cardiac Clinical Informatics Unit (SCCIU), you will play a key role in supporting all aspects of clinical informatics that contribute to service planning, delivery, auditing, and quality standards. The SCCIU is a multidisciplinary team comprising clinical analysts, subject matter experts, database administrators, application developers, and informatics professionals. The unit collaborates closely with various specialty groups to ensure alignment with clinical service lines.

As a Principal Cardiac Informatics Analyst, you will deliver advanced programming expertise and technical guidance to meet defined business objectives. Your work will involve developing and maintaining complex software applications, relational databases, reporting tools, and other technologies that support SCCIU clients across Queensland Health. You will also contribute to the production of clinical data reports for a diverse range of stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and external safety and quality registries.

Key knowledge and experience 

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Primarily develop, enhance and maintain the software applications, database and reporting services required to meet the business and operational needs of SCCIU and its clients.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise performing and taking responsibility for the analysis, design, planning and delivery of applications, database, data warehouse and reporting projects to ensure continued efficient operation of all SCCIU applications.
  • Consult and liaise extensively with a range of stakeholders to clarify business requirements and make recommendations on how to develop system enhancements to meet client needs.
  • To provide superior level design, development and maintenance of integration and interface processes and links between internal and external systems and modules from both an external system and internal system perspective.
  • Organise, develop and maintain all required documentation, including design documents, technical and system specifications and unit test plans in accordance with endorsed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) methodologies, standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure continuity of operation and a smooth transition into the production environment.
