Why this Role?
- Provide support to the Manager - Contractor Safety Assurance through the provision of a range of safety advice to clients, Directors and Managers to inform advice to departmental stakeholders across a range of infrastructure safety issues.
- Provide expert construction and contractor management safety advice, undertake audits/inspections, conduct and review incident investigations, develop procedure and policy and embed best practice
- Actively participate in teams to deliver safety training and related infrastructure activities and programs of work.
- Providing expert construction and contractor management safety advice, undertake assurance related activities, conduct and review incidents and incident investigations, develop procedure and policy and embed best practice.
- Provide client focused safety advice to staff in schools, regional centres and other educational facilities.
- Collaborate with staff across central office and regional facilities teams and Infrastructure Services Division to provide comprehensive field-based safety support service to clients.
- Participate in teams involved in the formulation of workable solutions for infrastructure safety related service issues that align to industry standards.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external networks to support departmental responses to safety issues and a best practice approach to implementing consistent processes.
- Provide high level advice, information and support services across a broad range of infrastructure safety related issues, with a strong focus on client centric facilities services and the provision of advice to staff in schools, regional teams and the wider community.
- Participate in project teams towards the development, implementation, maintenance and review of programs, policies and procedures, to support the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure and planning related issues.
- Prepare researched responses, reports, submissions and briefing materials on a range of safety issues, including the effective analysis of information.
The Perfect Fit
- A significant construction safety background and/or relevant tertiary qualifications, contractor safety management assurance, project management skills and a commitment to continuous improvement is essential to delivering in this role.
- As this vacancy involves regular school visits it is a requirement to possess a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services and have a current driver's licence.
