Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Medical Director to join the Women's Newborn and Community Team within the Women's and Children's Service Group at the TUH on a Temporary Part-time basis for a fixed period of up to 3 (three) years. This role has the privilege of leading teams of medical staff and services dedicated to improving the care for women, newborns and adult community specialties in northern Queensland and THHS respectively. |

- Salary range: $100.78 $127.77 p.h (L18-L27)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
We are looking for a Medical Director, Women, Newborn and Community (WN&C) to lead clinicians in tertiary Obstetrics, Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM), Gynaecology and sub-specialties, Neonatology, including the North Queensland Newborn Retrieval Service (ANTS NQ), and community services including Townsville Sexual Health and Breast Screen Queensland.
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- Relevant qualification in medical specialty with current AHPRA registration.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- Highly regarded: Demonstrated strong clinical leadership in managing medical specialists and training positions in a tertiary teaching hospital.
- It is also a requirement of the position to participate in on call rostering for THHS medical services.
- Travel will be required in this position both within the THHS and throughout Queensland which may include travel by small aircraft.
- All applicants must be awarded SoCP by the THHS Credentialing and SoCP committee. All appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken.
- Driver's Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
