The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Mental Health - Continuing Care Team Central) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide a comprehensive and flexible mental health service to children, young people and their family/carers including assessment, intervention, treatment planning and evaluation
- Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, to provide integration and coordination between different sites or programs
- Manage a highly complex caseload with clinical supervision and support based on the level of individual clinical experience
- Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff, in consultation and with the support of senior clinical staff
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Social Work
- Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Driver licence
- Blue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $79 051 - $116 189 per annum

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service Continuing Care Team (CYMHS CCT) is a multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty team within the Gold Coast Child and Youth Mental Health Services operating across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service to provide multi-specialty mental health intervention to children and young people (0-18 years). CYMHS CCT is a single team offering ongoing care coordination and therapeutic intervention for children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems.
