This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range

About The Role
As the Schools Officer, Grounds, you will support the efficient and effective operation of the school by providing high-quality grounds care and maintenance, carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the school grounds are safe, clean, and well-presented.
Your Responsibilities
As the Schools Officer, Grounds, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining school grounds, including the maintenance of school ovals, grounds, garden, regular blowing, mowing and watering.
- Pool maintenance. Conduct regular reviews of the overall management of the facility. Follow school swimming pool operation and management guidelines. Test water quality three times daily, recording/graphing the results.
- Regular service and general maintenance of grounds care equipment, such as mowers brush cutters, tractors (as per manufacturer's service manuals) or arrangement for service of equipment by approved providers.
- Assist with a range of duties that include coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required (this does not include emptying of bins in agreed eating areas);
- Attend to/or arrange repairs and maintenance within the school, including those which relate to fences, paving, gates and irrigation.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply workplace health and safety standards including maintenance of a safe work environment and the use and storage of petrol, LP gas, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers and other chemicals.
- Undertake grounds improvement and enhancement activities; and prepare, mark and take general care of all outdoor sporting facilities (e.g. tennis & basketball courts, track and field areas).
- Order and/or collect general grounds care/cleaning supplies and materials as authorised by the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
- Moving furniture/heavy items around school and transporting classroom supplies to different locations within school.
- Banking of school funds and delivery of mail to post office.
