About the Team
The Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (QCPIMH) empowers parents, caregivers and communities to nurture emotionally healthy children. We advocate for perinatal and infant mental health, influencing policy and public awareness.
Our Clinical Unit (0-4 CYMHS) delivers multidisciplinary mental health clinical services in Brisbane, including a volunteer Family Support Service. The Strategy Unit strengthens state-wide services through cross-sector collaboration, focusing on service/workforce development, promotion, research, and advocacy.
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills to optimise psycho-social outcomes for infants who are at risk of severe and complex mental health problems and their families and carers, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the infant mental health team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of specialist nursing care. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
Autonomy
- Practices autonomously.
- Provides leadership in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to particular patients.
- Assumes responsibility for professional leadership for a ward, service or unit in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 (NG7).
- Applies critical thinking across all the domains.
