Injury Management Advisor

The role of an Injury Management Advisor will support CHQ HHS Injury Management functions through best practice claims management by providing effective and professional rehabilitation and return to work case management functions focused towards WorkCover, Income protection and Health Management Claims. You will work collaboratively with workers, safety advisors, senior management and executives, stakeholders, and business leaders to ensure alignment with strategy, rehabilitation advice and provide positive outcomes for staff and patient safety.

About the Team
The Injury management team is a part of the greater Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team. As part of this greater team, other functions such as operational safety, safety systems, occupational violence, wellbeing and our staff wellbeing psychology service co-exist. The injury management function is responsible for supporting staff who have experienced work and non-work-related illness whilst facilitating a safe, timely and sustainable return to work outcome. The team works collaboratively with the injured employees and fosters communication between both managers, insurers, medical advisors and external parties. With this support, the team is able to focus on early intervention, compliance and legislative requirements whilst promoting a culture of safety, wellbeing and recovery at work.
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Effectively delivers injury management functions ensuring compliance with current legislation including the Work Health and Safety Act, Worker's Compensation Legislation, Workplace Rehabilitation Standard, Anti-Discrimination, and associated Codes of Practice.
- Undertake best practice claims management including early assessment, development of comprehensive rehabilitation and return to work plans and client focused case management of injured/ill workers, while empowering employees to be self-sufficient whilst supporting business functions.
