- Salary range: $107,960 to $115,604 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity
The Diabetes and Endocrine team, located at the Townsville University Hospital, supports general medicine and endocrine disorders in pregnancy with the obstetric medicine unit, insulin pump management, in patient management, diabetes high risk foot service, outpatient paediatric diabetes and adult endocrine clinics, and telehealth services.
The role of the Diabetes Nurse Educator is to provide leadership, support, education and engage in research activities within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of best practice Diabetes and Endocrinology care within a continuum of care framework.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Possession of a postgraduate qualification in Diabetes education.
- Experience in the education and support of patients with diabetes is essential particularly in relation to the use of insulin pump, CGM devices and relevant software.
- Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist paediatric diabetes education.
