An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Occupational Therapist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a 64 bed, acute medical unit at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level Occupational Therapy clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital Health and Queensland Health (SCH).
Occupational Therapy clinicians within SCH Allied Health -Service Delivery Model work as a team to meet clinical demand in keeping with Clinical Prioritisation Document. Staff will be required to work across other clinical services and facilities within SCH as required to assist in meeting patient care needs, managing leave cover, and succession planning of staff. Staff may be required to rotate across SCH as per Allied Health Rotation Guidelines.
The Occupational Therapists working in the acute medical unit reports operationally and professionally to the Director of Occupational Therapy.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners and students as delegated.
- Adhere to relevant expectations outlined in the SCH and Allied Health Governance Framework documents and Business Rules to ensure that best patient outcomes are achieved in a transparent, ethical and accountable manner.
- Communicate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to influence the culture towards a common, patient-centred vision and direction.
Remuneration value up to $13 113 p.m., comprising salary between $4912.70 - $5286.40 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Fixed Term Temporary Full-Time position, for up to 6months). Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy.
