Are you a high-level investigator with extensive skills and experience in undertaking sensitive and/or protracted investigations relating to allegation of non-compliance with legislative provisions, particularly in relation to issues involving the safety of children?

Do you possess extensive experience in the preparation of detailed investigation reports and/or briefs of evidence relating to those investigations?

Are you adept at providing support, guidance and mentoring to team members relating to investigative best practise?

If so, we are seeking to fill multiple Principal Regulatory Officer- Investigation positions within the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority across the State.

About the Role

Three positions available:

  • Central Queensland Region, located in the Rockhampton Regional Office (Permanent vacancy)
  • Far North Queensland Region, located at the Cairns Regional Office (Permanent vacancy)
  • North Coast Region, located at the Maroochydore Office (Temporary vacancy until 30 June 2026)

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake complex regulatory activities, making recommendations and decisions that support the Regulatory Authority to undertake its functions under the legislation and in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making.
  • Lead, support and guide high-level, sensitive and/or protracted investigations relating to alleged breaches of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
  • Model strong investigative skills to build capability of team members regarding investigations.
  • Apply effective record keeping practices and using regulatory systems to capture accurate and timely data, and regularly monitoring and reviewing data quality.
  • Provide expert advice that is consistent, accurate and timely to support the Regulatory Authority leadership team and external stakeholders including regulated ECEC providers and services, the general public and other agencies.
  • Contribute to the provision of high-level documentation, including briefs of evidence, correspondence, and reports to support regulatory and executive decision making.
  • Engage with high level stakeholders including members of the sector, to develop effective working relationships and manage ongoing matters.
