- Salary range: $94,926 to $100,071 p.a. (OO6)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
The position is responsible to manage all department mandatory and role specific training and conduct continuous improvement principles/activities to ensure the safe delivery of contemporary, best practice physical and personal security services and emergency response coordination at the Townsville University Hospital (TUH) campus and designated sites (Kirwan Health campus and the Joyce Palmer Health Service on Palm Island).
Requirements:
- The mandatory requirements for the position includes:
- The incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessing qualifiication, or the ability to rapidly acquire the qualification.
- CPPSEC3111 Restrain persons using handcuffs or the ability to rapidly acquire the unit of competency.
- The following additional experience will be highly regarded:
- Conduct of a previous workforce training position within a large deaprtment/organiation.
- Servcie delivery within the health sector or emergency servcies.
- The Assistant Manager (Training) will be expected to maintain the following competencies:
- Townsville HHS facilitated Safety Intrerventions Program (Advanced and Emergency) including physical intervention skills (individual and team-based).
- Townsville HHS facilitated Safety Interventions Program Instructor Course.
- Townsville HHS facilited Mechanical Wrist Restraint Device Training Program and Train the Trainer Course.
- The Assistant Manager (Training) will be expected to possess and maintain a very sound knowledge of the following minimum State legislation:
- Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011.
- Mental Health Act 2016.
- Weapons Regulations 2016.
- This is a (VPD) risk role.
