As Principal Advisor (Network Events), you will oversee the performance of Translink's business partners in delivering public transport services for events and Alternative Transport during planned and unplanned rail closures. Reporting directly to the Manager (Network Events), you will provide expert advice to senior leaders and team members to support effective service contract management within the Network Events team.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Negotiate and manage contracts for the provision of public transport services for events, including alternative transport services.
• Undertake detailed reviews of the financial operations and cost modelling of Translink business partners to ensure business proposals are economically sound and viable and make recommendations to business partners where required.
• Support urban transit operators in managing their event transport service capabilities by monitoring and undertaking periodical reviews of performance, service usage and quality.
• Support the Manager (Network Events) and Director (Events, Scheduling, Fleet and Busway Operations) in addressing complex and sensitive issues related to event transport planning and the delivery of alternative transport services.
• Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, event promoters, local communities and urban transit service providers.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Intra-state and interstate travel may be required for this role, as directed.
• An unrestricted Australian C class driver's license.
• Participate in an on-call roster, currently one week in five (subject to change based on operational needs), which includes working outside core business hours — such as weekends and public holidays—to support and monitor public transport services for major events including New Year's Eve, River-fire, concerts and large sporting events.
Requirements of the role:
• Experience with event public transport would be beneficial, training will be provided for the successful candidate.
• Experience in managing contracts and service performance would be advantageous, training will be provided for the successful candidate.
• Experience in building and maintaining positive stakeholder relations.
• Willingness to work outside normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays.
