About the role

The position requires provision of daily operational and professional leadership of the Physiotherapy inpatient services and the staff, students and Allied Health Assistants who would deliver them. Liaise with members of specialist inpatient teams to ensure best practice and high-quality patient care is provided for all patients. This role is responsible for management of a medium sized Physiotherapy team. The role is the reference point for others across West Moreton Health.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge, skills, experience and clinical leadership within the professional and/or multidisciplinary team, in the area of inpatient Physiotherapy. Demonstrate ability to integrate multiple sources of clinical evidence into practice to create solutions to complex case work.
  • Undertake the professional leadership of Physiotherapists working across inpatient areas of West Moreton HHS and outpatient respiratory Physiotherapy services including the supervision and development of staff to ensure effective and highly accountable practice.
  • Broad understanding of the continuum of care, and well developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to work autonomously and flexibly with initiative in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Applies clinical evidence that support continuous improvement, including the ability to initiate, plan, implement and evaluate local quality and service improvement activities, ensuring that facility or HHS initiatives are integrated into clinical practice, organisational work unit guidelines and policy.
  • Provide clinical practice supervision to all Physiotherapy staff, Allied Health Assistants and students to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards. Develop and maintain strong internal and external networks and proactively develop self, including maintaining contemporary Physiotherapy knowledge, management and organisational strategies. 

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Physiotherapy and hold full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Physiotherapist. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
