The Customer and Accessibility Advisor will play a critical role in supporting our dedication to creating an integrated network, accessible to all. This role will collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to advance customer experience and accessibility outcomes. A primary focus of the role is to support engagement and consultation with the Cross River Rail Accessibility Reference Group (ARG), a body of representatives from disability sector organisations and individuals with lived experience.

Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role

Cross River Rail is committed to delivering accessible infrastructure that serves all customers, ensuring a positive, inclusive experience from construction through to operations. The Customer and Accessibility Advisor plays a key role in supporting this commitment by helping create an integrated, accessible network. Part of the Customer and Network Integration team, the role works with diverse internal and external stakeholders to improve customer experience and accessibility. A primary focus is supporting engagement and consultation with the Accessibility Reference Group (ARG), made up of disability sector representatives and people with lived experience. This opportunity is offered as a 2 year full time contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact with ARG members, provide updates, gather feedback, and foster positive relationships.
  • Meeting Coordination and Secretariat Support: Support ARG meetings, working groups and site visits, including scheduling, agendas, presentations, minutes, and action tracking.
  • Content Development: Draft, edit and prepare presentations, reports and communications.
  • Partnership Coordination: Plan and coordinate partnerships with relevant disability sector organisations.
  • Project Monitoring and Issue Identification: Understand the project's critical path and milestones as they relate to stakeholder obligations, risks and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Database Management: Maintain accurate records of stakeholder relationships, interactions and engagement status.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Availability for occasional out-of-hours work, including weekends and public holidays, to support engagement activities.

About You:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in stakeholder liaison and engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to deliver clear messaging, presentations, and tailored correspondence.
  • Proven experience in secretariat duties, including agenda preparation, minute-taking and governance documentation.
  • Skilled at tracking deliverables and coordinating competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
