Join our team as Head of Special Education Services, locally known as Head of Department - Wellbeing and Engagement.

Bardon State School is a leafy, community-focused school just minutes from Brisbane’s CBD.


You will be a key member of our dedicated Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction and agenda of the school. You will contribute to a strong culture of inclusion, staff capability building, and student success in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

This temporary position is available for 12 months with the possibility of extension (commencing in Term 4, 2025).

* Salary rate shown is based on full-time hours (1.0 FTE).

This is a temporary part-time position (0.8 FTE, 40 Hours) from 7 October 2025 (Term 4) for 12 months with the possibility of extension, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role

As the Head of Department - Wellbeing and Engagement, there will be two aspects to your role:

  1. Coordinate and deliver targeted interventions and case management for Year 5–6 students requiring substantial or extensive adjustments (currently three small multi-age classes)
  2. Lead Engagement and Wellbeing initiatives across Prep to Year 6.
