Direct Services Team Leader

Your contribution
As a Direct Service Team Leader, you will supervise the day-to-day practice of direct support staff in the provision of accommodation support and respite services to people with an intellectual disability and their families. You will ensure that staff practices are consistent with all relevant legislative requirements and standards, including the Queensland Disability Service Standards.
As a Direct Service Team Leader you will have skills in leading and mentoring staff within an established direct support practice framework.

Principal responsibilities of this role:
- Encouraging teams to identify and implement strategies to ensure continuous improvement of service delivery for people with an intellectual disability.
- You keep yourself and teams informed about and ensure the application of relevant legislative requirements, departmental policies and service delivery practices.
- You plan for and implement regular monitoring and review of systems and processes utilised by support staff within the service delivery environment.
- Can articulate performance standards when providing assessment of direct support staff by providing constructive and incisive feedback about the work practices of individual staff with service delivery and departmental requirements.
You actively contribute and encourage relevant others to participate in support planning for people with a disability receiving services.
Your mandatory requirements:
- Possession of a current C class drivers' license
- Current Apply First Aid Certificate
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent
- Current NDIS Working Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
A minimum of six (6) years relevant experience in providing support to people with an intellectual disability.
