Come join Population Health Division as a Participant Follow Up Officer where you will implement the Participant, Follow Up Function (PFUF) for National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) participants who have had a positive Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) result but who have no record of the appropriate assessment and to encourage/support their progression through the Program.

As a Participant Follow Up Officer you will develop and maintain policy and protocols in relation to follow-up processes. You will collect and provide data to the NBCSP Register to update the participants' status in the NBCSP Register, as well as collect and provide data for the Qld PFUF database. Additionally, you will contact eligible men and women with a positive FOBT result at agreed milestones and encourage them to arrange an appointment with their General Practitioner (GP) or the recommended investigations given to them by their GP.
Role fit:
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including ability to liaise with people at all professional levels within and outside the Program.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse issues, establish a course of action and adopt a pro-active attitude with minimum direction.
- Demonstrated, or the ability to rapidly acquire, knowledge of medical terminology, population cancer screening and/or hospital systems/processes and their associated databases, bowel cancer pathogenesis and histopathology.
