The Role
We have an exciting permanent part-time Manager Internal Communication and Employee Engagement position available to join our People and Culture team at TAFE Queensland’s South Brisbane Campus.
As the Manager, Internal Communication and Employee Engagement, you will:
- Manage and deliver TAFE Queensland Brisbane’s Internal Communication and Engagement Strategy to ensure an appropriate communication framework and tolls that support clear, consistent and aligned communications to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Informing, motivating and aligning colleagues to the TAFE Queensland strategy and vision by building employee engagement, greater awareness of successes and driving a “One Team” focus across the region.
This position reports to the Director, People and Culture.
Salary
The salary range for the Manager, Internal Communication and Employee Engagement is $131,080.40 - $140,381.23 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
- Act as a trusted advisor to TAFE Queensland Brisbane’s Senior Leadership Team by proactively identifying communication needs and providing support and advice to improve leadership communication and engagement skills.
- Create and deliver an integrated internal communications strategy that supports the region’s goals and desired culture, reflects the business values and behaviours and enables successful delivery of projects.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, to actively engage staff with key people initiatives throughout the TAFE Queensland employee journey, for example Induction, PDP, Reward and Recognition, Staff Awards, Years of Service and any other associated programs.
- Work directly with the TAFE Queensland Internal Communications network to drive consistency across communications, staff engagement initiatives and the brand evolution
- Manage the coordination, drafting and delivery of accurate, consistent, insightful and refined written communication, across multiple internal channels, to engage staff with TAFE Queensland’s position.
- Develop appropriate communication material to support senior leaders and deliver key messages and announcements to their teams that are clear, engaging, informative and timely.
- Manage the development and maintenance of TAFE Queensland Brisbane’s intranet site by ensuring content is current, relevant and is the single source of “truth” for reference by all employees in the region.
- Measure the effectiveness and success of communications by establishing feedback and measurement mechanisms to monitor and improve the effectiveness of communications.
- Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.
- Actively engage with industry, business and the community as appropriate.
- Participate in other projects as required.

- Proven experience in negotiating with stakeholders, building and sustaining productive stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to achieve commercial business outcomes for the organisation.
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of the organisation through modelling of behaviours and the provision of outstanding client service.
