Our Cardiac Investigations Unit offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of cardiac diagnostic procedures as the Cardiac Scientist. This includes but is not limited to ECG’s, stress tests, ambulatory monitoring, echocardiography, and more advanced investigations like transoesophageal and stress echocardiograms. Ongoing professional development is a key part of the role, and you'll be actively involved in team education sessions, mentoring less experienced staff, and developing your own advanced clinical skills in areas such as cath lab and cardiac devices.

About us:

The Cardiac Investigations Unit offers a range of cardiac diagnostic services including echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, exercise stress testing, tilt table testing, and ambulatory electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure (BP) monitoring.

The unit is part of Allied Health as well as Cardiac Services and is a multidisciplinary team comprising of Cardiologists, Cardiac Physiologists, Nursing and Administration.

About the role:

Deliver as part of a multidisciplinary team, cardiac investigations to relevant stakeholders / customers across Central Queensland Health (CQ Health). Be a part of the exciting Cardiac Services expansion project which will see the design and development of Cardiac Catheter Lab which will provide public interventional cardiac services locally in Rockhampton.

About you:

Proof of tertiary qualification in science (or equivalent) with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology is mandatory for this position.

While not mandatory, the following relevant training, registration or qualification would be well regarded:

  • Registration or membership with appropriate registration authorities or associations (i.e. Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR), Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists).
  • Relevant additional or evidence of considerable professional development in cardiac clinical measurements (i.e. Cardiac Catheter Lab).
  • Certification/s with the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
  • Completion of a Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Electrophysiology.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $43.68 - $58.59 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
