About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to lead and drive the vision of excellence in the Statewide program of Queensland Palliative Medicine Training Program (QPTMP). The Medical Lead provides leadership and statewide oversight of the recruitment of advance trainees and educational leadership, supporting the Program Manager and Principal Education Officer.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Oversee the Selection Committee comprised of Directors of Services across the State to support the process of interviewing and selection/placement of trainees, to support best outcomes for services and trainees.
• Develop a high-level education program by designing and sourcing experts of all specialties and disciplines both locally, interstate and internationally to a program in formal teaching sessions, to meet RACP curriculum requirements and address newer innovations and contemporary education needs.
• Supervise and support the Principal Education officer in delivery of fortnightly education across the state.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of of Palliative Care in Queensland  through  membership of the  Palliative Care Clinical Network Steering Group.
