About the role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a registered nurse who practices at an advanced level of clinical skill and demonstrates specialised clinical expertise and or specialised skill set.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will demonstrate:

  • An advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice.
  • An advanced level of decision making in collaboration with the multi- disciplinary team, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertakes operational leadership.
  • Working collectively to apply the principles of effective clinical governance.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated advanced level of clinical knowledge, expertise and skills in managing post operative surgical patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and provide independent professional judgement and expertise in problem solving and clinical management within a complex, fast paced clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply quality assurance processes including participation in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Proven ability in the application of highly developed interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation and communication skills, to build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders inclusive of Multi-disciplinary Teams.
  • Exemplifies the West Moreton Health Professional Practice Model by demonstrating person-centred care, professional excellence, safe and effective care delivery, commitment to quality and safety, and collaborative practice.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
