Your new role:

Provide vital administrative support to the Perioperative Services and Elective Surgery Admissions Team, ensuring smooth patient admissions and efficient service delivery. You will:

• Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Perform reception duties including patient scheduling, enquiries, and medical document handling.
• Liaise with clinical staff and revenue teams to maintain compliant patient records.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Work Monday to Friday shifts from 2pm - 6pm (40 hours per fortnight)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a busy healthcare setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional administrative support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage office procedures efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective engagement with patients, clinical teams, and external stakeholders.
• A customer-focused approach with empathy and problem-solving abilities to meet patient and clinical needs promptly and professionally.
• A commitment to continuous learning, teamwork, and maintaining quality standards in accordance with healthcare policies and safety protocols.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
