The position of Social Worker (Clinical Paediatric) will provide competent clinical Social Work services within a multidisciplinary team across all areas of the Queensland Children’s Hospital. You will provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, and consultancy for children with complex psychosocial and health issues.

About the Role

  • Clinical Expertise: Deliver quality paediatric Social Work services across the continuum of care to patients and families of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service as part of a team of social workers or within an inter-disciplinary or multi-disciplinary team, to provide tertiary level health services to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate the social work role and to work cooperatively and effectively in a multidisciplinary health setting.
  • Clinical Ability: Demonstrated ability to independently manage a social work caseload, using appropriate interventions that respond to child and family psychosocial needs in the context of crisis, trauma, grief, chronic illness and disability, hospitalisation, domestic and family violence and child protection.
  • Leadership: An ability to incorporate quality improvement activities and / or research into clinical practice and develop skills in staff and student supervision.
