About us:

The Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health Service (BBV&SHS) is based in Rockhampton and provides, assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment as well as education and health promotion to the community. The service has an identified focus on at risk population groups whose behaviours or social disadvantages may put them at a greater risk of contracting a blood borne virus or sexually transmissible infection.

The Blood Borne Virus specialised services provide specialist medical and nursing care, treatment, support, and education for people living with Viral Hepatitis and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and their families. This is facilitated through an integrated model of care with other health care providers and organisations both locally and via telehealth. In addition, the BBV&SHS includes a Mobile Women's Health Service that provides preventative and gynaecological clinical services (cervical screening, sexual and reproductive health), termination of pregnancy, counselling, and information delivery.

About the role:

The Community Engagement and Administration Officer will manage components of the development, implementation and evaluation of communication and education strategies to encourage participation in the BBV&SHS program including Mobile Women's Health Service. This role will also have a focus to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and men across Central Queensland, empowering them in accessing Health Services. The successful candidate will also develop strong partnerships with the other internal and external Health Services; deliver culturally appropriate evidenced based health messages to empower the community to increase participation in health screening and ensure better health outcomes through early detection and appropriate follow up of screen detected irregularities.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $5,460 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $53.24 - $57.92 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
