Your new role:

As Supervisor, Production at the Queensland Tissue Bank, you will lead the delivery and coordination of tissue production and manufacturing activities, ensuring the highest clinical and technical standards are maintained.

  • Supervise and support a small team of Health Practitioners and Clinical Assistants in the production and manufacturing of multiple tissue types, including ocular, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and skin tissues.
  • Provide expert clinical and technical advice on tissue recovery, production methods, and the implementation of new techniques.
  • Oversee production activities to ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and training programs to support best practice and continuous improvement.

About you:

You are an experienced clinical professional with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for advancing tissue banking services.

  • Possess a relevant degree in medical science, science, applied science or a related field, with postgraduate qualifications or substantial experience highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated expertise (or the ability to quickly acquire expertise) in tissue recovery and processing, including adherence to complex legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and lead a team effectively.
  • Committed to professional integrity, collaboration, and ongoing learning, with excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders in challenging circumstances.

The Queensland Tissue Bank works with cadaveric and non-cadaveric tissue donors of all ages. Roles that do not have direct responsibilities associated with these functions are likely to be exposed to discussions and/or requests to support elements of this work.
