The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Sonographers / Radiographer Sonographers – Senior (Medical Imaging) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Perform, independent real time ultrasound examinations
- Responsible for the primary detection, evaluation and diagnosis of pathology and production of sonographer reports
- Provide clinical practice supervision and education of staff and students
- Monitor, report and actively contribute to the development of quality improvement processes
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Sonographer:
- Qualification in Medical Ultrasound (Graduate/Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent
- Status as an Accredited Medical Sonographer (General) with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
- Radiographer/Sonographer:
- Tertiary degree as a Radiographer
- AHPRA registration
- Queensland Radiation Use Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, permanent part time, temporary full time and temporary part time (several positions, hrs negotiable. Temporary contract up to 12 months)
- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum, $64.64 - $69.55 per hour part time
About Us
The Medical Imaging Department is expanding which provides service to numerous referring teams: Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emergency, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, cancer outpatients, and various other teams. The Department operates 7 days per week with shifts ranging from early morning to late evening across the district. An Ultrasound on-call service is currently offered from late evening to early morning.
