The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) is part of the Courts and Tribunals Division within the Department of Justice (DoJ). QCAT is an independent tribunal established under the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2009. QCAT plays an integral role in the Queensland justice system with a mandate to provide a quick and inexpensive avenue to resolve and determine disputes, applications, reviews and referrals in a wide range of jurisdictions.
The Business Transformation team is part of QCAT’s Corporate Services. The Manager is responsible for leading a small team to provide expert advice on the impacts for QCAT arising from operational issues and legislative and public reforms and respond to practice issues impacting QCAT.

- Manage the Practice and Improvement team, including driving performance and adjusting priorities as required in the context of managing change.
- Lead projects and provide practice advice on the impacts for QCAT arising from operational issues and legislative and public policy reforms.
- Contribute to the provision of responses to complex and high-profile issues impacting QCAT, including preparing departmental and ministerial briefs and correspondence.
- Contribute to the preparation of complex government submissions to support the implementation of legislative and public policy reforms in QCAT.
- From a QCAT operational perspective, oversee the development of best-practice policies and procedures to support the implementation of legislative and public policy reforms within QCAT.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with interdepartmental and interagency stakeholders including leveraging opportunities to improve processes across the system.
- Contribute to business planning and lead the delivery of actions that support the QCAT strategic direction.
