Our purpose is to improve work health and safety and reduce the risk of work-related fatalities, injuries, and illness in Queensland workplaces.
We work with industry and assist businesses to create a safe and healthy culture in Queensland places of work. We do this by:
• Making sure work health and safety laws are followed.
• Investigating work-related fatalities and serious injuries.
• Educating workplaces on ways to comply with legislation.
• Taking legal action when work health and safety laws are broken.
• Educating employees and employers on their legal obligations.

As the Licensing Officer you will work with limited supervision as part of the Licensing Operations and Compliance team in the Licensing and Regulatory
Interventions directorate to assist with the management of operational aspects of work health and safety licensing services. You will provide assistance in the ongoing planning, review, evaluation, development and interpretation of policies, systems and processes, utilised to achieve high quality licensing outcomes. This role is also a first point of contact and is responsible for the provision of high quality, timely information to licensing stakeholders.
While there are no mandatory conditions or qualifications for this role, qualifications in an appropriate discipline are highly desirable.
