Medical Oncology Fellow (Breast Cancer)

The Medical Oncology Unit are looking for a Fellow (Breast Cancer) to join their team. The fellow will be primarily involved in breast medical oncology programs which will involve participation and supervision of clinical trials, in addition to involvement with in-patient and ambulatory patient (day ward and outpatients) care and coordination of some unit activities. While the role will have a focus on breast cancer, the candidate will be expected to be involved in the activities of the unit and other solid tumours as per the needs of the unit.

About the Role
The following position reports to the Director of Medical Oncology
- Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives, as outlined below.
- To participate in the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer patients and where possible attend the weekly breast cancer multidisciplinary meeting.

- A suitable candidate for this position will be in the process of completing or have completed their training in Medical Oncology within the RACP and have an interest in breast cancer.
- This position has no Staffing and budget responsibilities.
- To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care by assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations; Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant; Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care (inpatients only)
