The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) offers a specialised mental health service for families with children and young people (birth to 18 years) who experience severe and complex mental health problems, and where their needs cannot be met by other services.

  • Salary range: $5557.50 to $5798.90 p.f. (HP5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

  • Lead and Coordinate the provision of specialised child and youth mental health acute response pathways within CYMHS.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership to clinicians working within the CYMHS acute response pathway.
  • Provide clinical expertise, supervision and leadership to other members of the team and carry a small clinical caseload.

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Speech Pathologist, Psychologist.) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association..
  • Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
  • Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
