This is a part-time position, offering a flexible schedule that supports work/life balance, ongoing study, & personal commitments. CQ SPACE aims to enhance access to specialist palliative care, supporting aged care residents to receive quality end-of-life care in their preferred setting while reducing hospitalisations. Provide clinical leadership, facilitate advanced care planning, & collaborate with aged care staff, GPs, & specialists across Central Queensland.

Ideal candidates will have at least five years’ post-graduate RN experience, including two in palliative or aged care, & hold current AHPRA registration.

About us:

Central Queensland Specialist Palliative Care in Aged Care project aims to improve access to specialist palliative care and improve palliative and end-of-life care to residents of aged care facilities, in their place of choosing and avoid unnecessary hospitalisation. This initiative comes under the Australian Government's Better Quality of Care – Comprehensive Palliative Care in Aged Care Measure to support older persons living in Residential Aged Care Facilities. 

About the role:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse (RN) appointed to the position with endorsements to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner works within current Commonwealth, State and District regulations in relation to expanded authorities in the RAC setting.

About you:

  • A bachelor's degree in Nursing with a minimum of five years post graduate experience as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • Nurse Practitioner Master's level qualification and NMBA endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is mandatory. 
  • Minimum experience in Palliative Care/Aged Care spanning minimum 2 years is required.
  • While not mandatory, a relevant post graduate qualification in Palliative Care would be highly regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $88,898 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $75.27 - $78.59 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
