About the role:

  • Coordinate and participate in the Coding Quality Program to ensure objectives are met. This includes regular retrospective general staff coding audits and targeted coding audits in accordance with CQHHS strategic direction and the unit's quality plan.
  • Undertake clinical liaison based on key coding audit findings and organisational priorities. Initiate, participate in and contribute to quality improvement activities and initiatives. Liaise with clinicians, medical and nursing staff, allied health staff within CQHHS with regards to providing education, expert advice and identifying documentation issues that impact on the Coding Unit.
  • Analyse, validate and reconcile coded information using appropriate information management tools to ensure coded data integrity. Provide expert advice in the interpretation of coded data with regards to performance reporting and benchmarking initiatives as required.
  • Assist with the completion of clinical coding to meet the Department of Health's end of month data submission deadline.

About you:

  • It is a requirement of the position to have a relevant Clinical coder certification.
    • The successful candidate will be required to work onsite.
  • Minimum 4-5 years full-time equivalent Clinical Coding knowledge and experience
    • Intermediate ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS Clinical Coding Course (or equivalent)
    • Advanced ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS Clinical Coding Course (or equivalent)
    • Certificate of external and internal clinical coding auditing
    • Eligibility for full membership of HIMAA (Health Information Management Association of Australia)

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $131,052 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $53.24 - $57.92 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
