Senior Payroll Officer

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join the Program Workforce Unit. The Program Workforce Unit is responsible for managing a range of workforce functions including the casual workforce employed under the QCAA Act to support the activities related to implementation of senior internal and external assessment. The Senior Payroll Officer supports Team Leaders and the Manager, Program Workforce, in coordinating and conducting a diverse range of operational and logistical projects and activities, which support programs administered by the QCAA.

What you will do
In the Senior Payroll Officer role, you will:
- Support the Team leader to ensure effective and efficient delivery of payroll services, reconciliations and advisory services
- Undertake a range of quality assurance and data entry processes to ensure to an accurate processing of casuals pay each cycle.
- Develop, implement and provide advice to managers and employees on operational policies, systems, practices and processes.
- Contribute to the design of new systems required to support the recruitment, engagement and payment of casual employees, with a focus on creativity, innovation and the use of technology.
- Prepare a range of standard and ad hoc reports from the Aurion system, manipulate this data in Excel spreadsheets, and undertake necessary actions.
- Work with the other team members and the Manager in undertaking projects across a broad range of functions.
- Assist with the delivery of training and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and training programs to meet these needs
- Maintain a knowledge and understanding of the legislative, industrial and policy framework for casual workforce management within the Queensland public sector.

This role reports to the Team Leader Program Workforce Unit. No roles report directly to this role.
