Your new role:

We're looking for a compassionate and skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality clinical services within our dynamic Child and Youth Mental Health team in Logan. In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy services to young people in a supportive, recovery-oriented, interprofessional environment.
  • Apply independent clinical judgment to complex cases, with access to senior clinical support as needed.
  • Lead and contribute to service improvement initiatives, including quality improvement and research projects.
  • Supervise and support early-career clinicians, students, and allied health assistants.

About you:

You're an experienced occupational therapist with a passion for child and youth mental health. You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to both clinical excellence and ongoing improvement.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated high-level skills in delivering OT services in a mental health setting, including assessment, intervention, and discharge planning.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively with families, carers, and team members.
  • Proven leadership in mentoring, supervising and developing others within a clinical setting.
  • A proactive approach to service development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

About the Logan Child and Youth Mental Health Service 

The Logan Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) is a dynamic and innovative team that provides specialised mental health care to children and young people under the age of 18 who experience severe and complex mental health difficulties, and where their needs cannot be met by other services. This work is inclusive of working with families and carers as well as other organisations that are involved with the young person e.g., school, and family support services. Logan CYMHS works as a high functioning multi-disciplinary team under the clinical governance of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and is well integrated with the suite of services offered by Metro South CYMHS Division (as below) and other Statewide Programs (e.g., Jacaranda Place).
